Meet Bailee, the sweet, somewhat reserved yet still bubbly new Collins High School 2016 senior!

I learned very quickly that Bailee could almost be a girl from another era. She loves classic TV shows and traditional things and she and her lovely mom both had clear ideas in what they wanted with Bailee's senior photos. The #1 request? Pretty light! And I totally think we gave that to her in spades!

This is truly one of my all time favorite locations simply for how gorgeous it is at sunset. Miss Bailee just glows here, don't you think?

This is her serious face but truly this girl is 99% smiles!

And she is right at home in a beautiful country setting....

As well as glamming it up a notch! This blue was SPECTACULAR with the brick and Bailee's stunning blue eyes!

I just have to include this shot, too - her mama said it completely captured "her Bailee" and to me that's one of the biggest compliments I could get!
Thank you so much for choosing me to be your senior photographer, Bailee (and Melena!). It was truly a pleasure and I know that your senior year will be a very special one for you!

Meet Joanna, the petite, feisty, kick-boxing, lacrosse-playing, horse-back riding girly-girl and now new Collins High School 2016 SENIOR!!

I have known Miss Joanna (and her awesome family) since she was about 8 years old. (How I hate typing that!) I remember the most adorable little girl with big hair bows and big smiles to match. I am trying to wrap my head around the fact that this beautiful young lady is now a SENIOR, but it's difficult!

Joanna & her mom both had wonderful ideas of what they wanted to do with her senior session and one of them was to have her photos taken at the family farm. It is the most gorgeous Civil War period home and the property around it was equally breathtaking. I could have spent hours and hours there. But I promise, Joanna was the prettiest thing there by far!

And just what does one do when one sees a tire swing just hanging there waiting??
EXACTLY this.
Just look at that joy on her face!

I am a sucker for red geraniums in the summertime so I knew I had to pose Joanna here. I love the tiniest pop of that bright color to set of her white dress.

And the columns! You can't have a Civil War era home and not have these gorgeous columns. They held up the entire wrap-around porch and framed Joanna so beautifully!

Then we headed over to the high school field for some sports shots. Joanna is a fantastic athlete and we had such a fun time doing things uniquely "her" during her session, including working in her signature color - GOLD!
I adore the gold glitter. I've always wanted to do a shot like this and it was perfect for Joanna! Her mom even spray-painted her lacrosse ball gold so we could use it in some shots.

These shots just perfectly sum up Joanna - girly but oh-so-fierce.

Seriously! I wouldn't want to cross Joanna in a game! Her mom tells me it's like she's two different people - once she steps on that field she's ALL competitor. I believe it!

Thank you so much, Joanna, for choosing me to be your senior photographer. I'm so honored to have even a small part in what I know is going to be a spectacular senior year!

Meet Mercades, my latest Collins High School 2016 SENIOR!!!

Mercades really wanted something "not typical" for her senior session and we decided an urban setting was just up her alley (no pun intended)! We traveled to downtown Louisville and just walked along Market Street to see where inspiration would take us. It's by far one of my favorite things to do.

One of our first stops was here.  I fell in love with the beautiful iron gate you see behind her and the bright yellow building facade so we had to stop there. What you can't see from here is the beautiful alley that the gate enclosed. We visited there, too, of course!

Across the street from where we were was this cool green warehouse door. I loved the lines and texture of it and thought it contrasted so well with Mercades' black sweater.
We're still at the warehouse door in this photo but I just have to take a second to mention just how beautiful this girl's eyes are! Simply amazing!

And one more shot on the other side of the iron gate this time. I would want to sit at this little bistro in the fall. I just love this setting so.

Thank you so much, Mercades, for allowing me to capture some beautiful shots of the beautiful girl you are! I hope you have a wonderful senior year!

Meet Sarah.

Oh, this girl! I don't even know where to begin except by saying she was an absolute delight to work with. She has a spunk and zest for life that is inspiring and contagious and it made our photo session so. much. fun!!

I've been playing around with somehow putting "2016" in at least one of my senior's photos each session. And when I saw that this brick wall already had chalk graffiti on it, was too perfect to pass up!

Then we experimented just a little. It's fabulous (for photo opportunities at least) that downtown settings on weekends can be a little slower. It gave us a chance to try something totally different. So we sat Sarah in her gorgeous glam outfit in a velvet chair in the middle of the the heart of downtown. And it worked. And I love all our images from this location but I think this one might be my favorite!

This bridge location is another one of my favorites and Sarah worked it like the next Top Model! (And I learned what "smize" meant! it's totally a thing.)

I haven't even mentioned yet just how striking Sarah's red hair is because it's so obvious, but just look at how it captures the light so beautifully and allows this gorgeous girl shine even more!

So, thank you, Sarah, for choosing me to be your senior photographer! I had such a wonderful time with you and I am honored I had the chance to be a part of the start of your senior year! Make it an amazing one!

The other day I had the huge pleasure of meeting the gorgeous Schroth family. They recently increased in size to a brand new family of FOUR and because of that, they wanted some newborn images of their sweet Graham as well as a few of all of four them.

First I have to say that big brother, Riley, is a charmer...and he absolutely loves loving on his baby brother and he gives such sweet (and sometimes mischievous!) smiles for the camera!

When Riley was small, they had the idea to have a family photo taken in front of their beautiful home. With the brand new addition of baby Graham, it was the perfect time to do it again!

And now for some close ups of the sweetest little bundle...

Yes, I can fully admit that I am obsessed with little bitty baby feet! They are just so very precious and I always make sure to get them documented!

But the rest of him is pretty sweet, too. Just look at that precious face!

But don't let this boy fool you. These few pictures were taken during the only short stretch that he was actually asleep for his session! The rest of the time he was WIDE awake!

Just look at those sweet peepers...on both baby Graham and his big brother!

And there's just nothing like a mama and  her sweet newborn. It always makes me melt to see it!

Thank you so much, Schroth family, for allowing me into your home to capture your most precious moments. Many blessings to you as a new family of four.

Meet Morgan, my newest 2016 Shelby County High School senior!!

I can't even begin to say enough good things about this sweet, delightful girl but I'll begin with this: her smile absolutely lights up a room! Just look...

See what I mean? She's just got such a joyful, beautiful spirit about her and I truly enjoyed spending our session together! I think she even had a wonderful time despite being nervous initially! She was such a natural in front of the camera.

We played around a bit for her session, trying a little bit of everything! We did a few railroad shots but then we  had a little fun and put her graduation year on the tracks and took a few more. THIS huge smile is a result of her parents giving her a hard time! Makes me grin back every time I look at it!

We even visited the location where her father had his own senior portraits taken and snapped a few there as well! I love that there is that connection through the generations (and didn't her outfit look adorable?!)

I jokingly call these beautiful close-ups "grandma" shots because all the grandparents want these types of photos of their loves - the ones where they can see their beautiful smiles and pretty eyes! (They're often times my favorites, too :))

OH YES! And one more thing about this girl - did I forget to mention what a stellar athlete she is?! She's such a dynamo and the most petite thing but check out how she can palm this soccer ball! GO MORGAN!!

Thank you so much, Morgan, for choosing me to be your senior photographer. It was totally my pleasure and I hope you have the most amazing senior year! ROCK it, ROCKETS!

Meet the absolutely adorable newly three-year-old Hudson!!

Hudson was a bundle of energy that kept me running but he would pause every so often to throw me a few gems like these!!

We spent an hour or so (I'm impressed he was cooperative for so long!) playing and taking photos at Red Orchard Park. And as you can tell, he loved playing peek-a-boo!

He's such an adorable little man. I even brought along a little tractor for him to play with and that was a huge hit...but not as much of a hit as the park's slides! Hudson LOVES to go, go, go!

I am so thrilled this little man's mom allowed me to take his 3-year photos and I hope it's a very wonderful year for him!

Meet Bryson, a 2016 Collins High School senior!

This young man has been playing baseball since he was around 7 or 8, mostly with the same team AND his dad as his coach! How awesome is that? It was only fitting that one of our locations for Bryson's senior session was the ball field.

I  have no doubt Bryson is about as comfortable in that dugout and on that field that just about anywhere. And I love that his number is "1."

But this young man cleans up really well too! He's such a handsome guy. I love our shots away from the field as well!

Thank you so much, Bryson, for letting me be a small part of the start of your senior year! I hope you have an extraordinary one!
