When we did this beautiful girl's senior photos last summer, she didn't have her new soccer uniform for us to use. And if you know her at all, you know that for Ashley, soccer is life! So before she had to turn her uniform in (and probably a little beyond!) we made sure to hit up her home turf for a few images where she feels most at home. Quite frankly, I think they're my favorite because they are so her!

I like to think this little smirk is pure Ashley attitude!

And of course an action shot! This girl amazes me!

I can't wait to see you do big things, Ash! I love you to pieces and know you'll be amazing at whatever road you travel down!

I have to start by saying that I am a huge fan of this guy right here.
He's got such an awesome personality, is crazy talented, has killer style and is just so much fun to be around. In fact, a random young lady who happened by while we were capturing these photos just had to tell him, "You're kind of adorable!" I couldn't agree more. So while I completely enjoyed our first senior session together and have to admit, I loved his second one even more!
Harrison graduated from Collins High School just a few weeks ago and will be going to my best friend's alma mater - BELMONT UNIVERSITY - this fall! I have no doubt he's going to set that place on fire and love every minute while doing it!

I adore the area of town we went for his session. There was a bit of everything (quite literally). This awesome old Coke truck was perfect for Harrison's vintage/hipster/rocker vibe. It also helps that the kid loves Coke! (Win, win!)

And yes, this awesome caboose was just steps away from the truck. Seriously. I couldn't make that up! So when you see an old caboose, you "have" to climb aboard. It's rule somewhere. Trust me.

And finally we finished up by his favorite record store, Guestroom. We couldn't have done the session without including it.

Thank you so much, Harrison (and your amazing mom, Stephanie) for allowing me the honor of capturing your senior images! I will go out on a limb and say they are truly some of my favorites ever and I hope you love them even half as much as I do! May you have a wonderful experience at Belmont! They are lucky to have you!

Say hi to Beau and Sadie!
You might remember them from a previous session or two (how I love my return clients!) but my, have they changed!!

When I first photographed the adorable Beau, he wasn't even four...now he's a fiesty five and a half year old who is 110% boy from the top of his head to the bottom of his toes!
But an even bigger difference is in sweet Miss Sadie. She was just a few days old the last time I photographed her and now she's a gorgeous almost one-year-old! I wondered how Beau would adjust to this new addition in his life and I have to say they really adore each other! Just look....

This one became a giant print on their mama's wall! I LOVE that!

But we also had to make sure to do some individual shots too. This creek is a very special place for Beau so it was only fitting to get some photos there. The rain jacket and boots couldn't have been more perfect!

And this is the true impish, impatient Beau face! It cracks me up!

And not to be outdone, here is the sweet Miss Sadie. She wasn't quite walking yet, but she could stand beautifully! I adore that she's on her tippy-toes in the second one!

I could squeeze her all day!

Thank you so much, Gigi, for making the time on your quick visit for me to capture these images of your precious babies! It's always an honor to work with you and I hope we do it again very soon!

Meet Christopher, a 2016 senior newly graduated from Shelby County High School! This young man was such a pleasure to get to know. He was soft-spoken, polite, handsome and so very talented. His passion is RODEO and he is amazing! I loved capturing some images of him in his element and I know I speak for a lot of ladies when I say...

there's just something about a cowboy!

I had the pleasure of meeting not only Christopher but three of his horses as well. He explained that he travels with them all and uses them all for different events in Rodeo. Aren't they magnificent?

Christopher wasn't one to smile largely but I love this awesome 1/2 smile and managed to capture it a few times!

This jacket is one he earned in a national rodeo competition. It's a badge of honor just like a letterman's jacket and I thought it was only appropriate we included it in a few of his images which actually turned out to be some of my favorites from the entire session.

Thank you, Christopher, for allowing me to capture just a small part of your senior year! I wish you only the best in Arkansas this fall!

Meet the beautiful Gurney family!!
This wonderful group of five was about to become a fabulous family of six in just a few short weeks!! It was so special that they wanted a chance to document their unit just as they were at that moment! I just fell in love this idea because so many times we're not able to know when the "lasts"of our lives will happen. When we are given the gift of knowing, it's wonderful to be able to take advantage of it!

I love this photo! Miss L absolutely adores her big brothers! And with the arrival of the new baby not only will she get to be a big sister, she'll HAVE a sister!

I think she might be a bit excited about that idea, don't you?!

The Gurneys are a fantastic family and beyond photogenic! I'm so happy they allowed me to capture their memories and I just can't wait to meet this new little one!!

Meet the amazing Qiara, the most do-everything, go-get-'em 2016 Shelby County HS Senior I've ever met! This girl is the epitome of getting the most out of high school. Qiara plays volleyball, does FFA, is in JROTC and so much more! And that smile?! It can light up a city block!

I've been fortunate enough to know Keke's mom for quite a while now and I was more than honored that she chose me to capture her daughter's senior photos!

See what I mean about this smile??! This might just be my favorite photo from our entire shoot!

And I love that this girl is just as comfortable all fancy as she is in her jeans or volleyball uniform. She rocked it out!

Thank you so much, Qiara, for allowing me to be a part of your senior year! I wish you so much joy and success in the future!

shelby east middle dance team. | december 2015 | {KELLYGOREEPHOTOGRAPHY.} SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHER. SHELBYVILLE KENTUCKY.

No. You're totally right! I don't normally do things like this! Generally speaking, the only sports I photograph are my son's football and track/XC events, but I was beyond excited when the dance team coaches from my son's middle school contacted me about taking their photos! A whole GROUP of girls?!! What more could a mom of all boys want?! They wanted to do something special for the girls and I was all about that!

First we did something a bit traditional.
(And can I just say getting 10 beautiful middle school ladies ready for photos is no easy task?! ;))

They were all about spunk and personality! These girls had it in spades!

I adore the "Missiles" painted on the wall of their gym. What? It's at the very TOP of the bleachers and you're only a 5' tall photographer? No worries! We can make that happen! And it just might be my favorite shot!

I had such a great time with this group and I'm so glad their coaches allowed me this opportunity! I hope I get so see some of you again this fall, ladies!

Meet Reece! This adorable little monkey of a boy is the little brother of one of my 2015 seniors! I bet you can even guess which one as the family resemblance is strong with this group!
But seriously...isn't he the cutest?!

We were so fortunate that this past winter was so mild that I was even taking photos in DECEMBER! Yes, December! These photos were Christmas presents for Reece's family and I know they had to have been a huge hit.

I have no doubt this face allows him to get away with just about anything!

Reece's big brother had his portraits taken at this same spot when he was just about this age, so of course we had to do it, too. I think this above photo was probably my favorite from the entire session!

And how else do you keep a 4-year-old occupied? You let him climb, of course! And we did just that! It was the perfect way to wrap up our session and my last outdoor session of the year!

Thank you so much to the Harrods for allowing me to capture your memories! I love all my sessions with all of you!

Oh these sweet girls! I adore them! Sarah (the brunette) was one of my 2016 seniors and this time she brought her beautiful sister, Jamie, with her for some sibling portraits! It was a really chilly, though beautiful, late November afternoon and these girls will tell you they were human popsicles but you'd never know it from these gorgeous smiles! They really rocked out their session and were so  much fun!

Aren't they a beautiful pair? Of course I captured a few of them individually too. They were celebrating Jamie's birthday and Sarah's acceptance to the University of Louisville (Go CARDS!).

Thank you, ladies, for conquering the cold with me, for making me laugh and allowing me to get such beautiful images of you! It's always a joy!
